Sony has introduced Australians to their new series of high definition pan-tilt and zoom security cameras.
Recording in 16:9 widescreen ratio and available in both indoor and outdoor models Sony claims the SNC-RH series are the first in their class to boast high definition (HD) recording.
Sony Australia’s security expert, Tony Lagan, said in a statement the company will be “bringing its HD expertise developed from the broadcast and consumer electronics area to the video security and surveillance market”.
The vendor also claimed the camera’s HD format will enable the capture of quality footage in poor light and weather conditions and is well suited to filming fast moving objects.
Sony claims features offered by the SNC-RH will give “crime solvers three times the detail to work with compared with standard cameras”.
The unit is capable of switching between high and standard definition formats and Sony spokesperson, Andres Lopez-Verela, said the range is backwards compatible with existing Sony hardware and software.
